After 15 years in San Francisco, Batter Bakery is moving its production kitchen to Berkeley. The new location at the historic Berkeley Kitchens building will offer a more efficient space for production, addressing challenges faced in their small retail shop kitchen.  

While the decision was tough due to their strong connection to San Francisco, operational changes and the retail environment influenced the move. The founder’s growing family also played a role in the decision. As a result, the Pine Street café in San Francisco will be closing, but other operations like the kiosk, farmers market stall, deliveries, and wholesale operations will continue unchanged.  

Customers can now pick up orders at the Berkeley location, creating an exciting opportunity for East Bay residents. Batter Bakery is eager to establish new connections in the East Bay, expand through wholesale partnerships and farmers markets. The café operations will end in mid to late July, with updates available on their Instagram page.
