Where is Rodeo, CA and What Is It Like

Rodeo is a small waterfront city in Contra Costa County, right along the Carquinez Strait. It sits between Hercules and Crockett and gives you access to larger job hubs like Berkeley and San Francisco without being directly in the middle of it.

 This town is one of those places where you’ll see a mix of older homes, different pockets of neighborhoods, and not a lot of overbuilding.

You’re not looking at rows of newer construction like you see in Hercules. Most of what’s here has been here for a while.

But that’s also what’s starting to shift.

There are a couple of developments coming in right now, which you really didn’t see here before. And in a smaller city like this, even a few projects can start to change things pretty quickly.

Rodeo CA Real Estate Prices

Rodeo is still one of the more affordable areas in the Bay Area.

  • Many homes fall in the mid to high 600s
  • Some properties push into the low 700s depending on condition and location
  • Areas like Viewpointe can reach into the 700s to 800s

Compared to nearby cities, that price point matters.

If you look at nearby areas like
👉 Pinole
👉 Hercules
👉 El Sobrante

You will notice Rodeo often comes in at a lower entry point.

That is exactly why buyers start looking here once they get priced out of other parts of the East Bay.

Types of Homes in Rodeo

Most of the housing stock in Rodeo includes:

  • Older single family homes
  • Some multi unit properties
  • Smaller lots compared to newer suburban builds
  • Opportunities for renovation and value add

You are not buying perfection here. You are buying potential.

That matters if you are thinking long term.

New Development and What It Means

There are a few developments starting to come into Rodeo, including a mixed use project on Parker Avenue that will bring residential units along with retail space.

It is not massive, but in a smaller city like this, even small projects can shift how an area grows over time.
