If you’ve been watching the California housing market closely, this is an update worth paying attention to.
CalHFA has officially released the registration window for the Dream For All Shared Appreciation Loan:
February 24 through March 16.
This program can provide up to 20% toward a buyer’s down payment or closing costs for eligible first-time buyers. There are no monthly payments on the assistance. Instead, it’s repaid when the home is sold or refinanced, along with a portion of the home’s appreciation.
Why this matters now:
When the program launched previously, demand exceeded available funds. The buyers who had their financing, documents, and strategy lined up ahead of time were the ones positioned to move forward.
If you’re considering buying this year — or even just want to understand whether this program could apply to you — preparation is the difference between having an option and missing the window.
If you’d like details on eligibility, income limits, or what steps to take before registration opens, reply to this email or comment “DREAM” on my latest post and I’ll send you the information.
